You can withdraw from the contract without giving a reason within 14 days of paying.

Withdraw from the contract

The Hungarian version is authoritative.

1. The provider and the subject of the contract

Wedonia is an online wedding planning service (the "Service"). The provider: Dávid Ármin Szőrös, sole proprietor (registered office: Mátyás király tér 2, 1204 Budapest, Hungary; registration number: 62903785; tax number: 92437605-1-43; email: team@wedonia.com; phone: +36 30 828 3863).

The contract is concluded when you accept these terms on your first sign-in. For a paid plan, the contract for that plan is concluded by a successful payment.

These terms are available in Hungarian, English and German; in case of any discrepancy the Hungarian version prevails.

The contract is concluded electronically. It is not a written contract and the Provider does not file it; the version you accepted remains available at wedonia.com/en/aszf, through the version selector. Before paying, you can review and correct every detail you entered in the summary and on Stripe's payment page; the order is placed only when you press the pay button.

The Service works in the current versions of the major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge), needs an internet connection and uses no technical protection measures (DRM).

2. Accounts, weddings and roles

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address or with a Google account. You are responsible for making sure only you can access your mailbox — anyone who can will also be able to sign in to your account.

The owner of a wedding is the account that created it. Ownership cannot be transferred to another account, neither by the user nor by Wedonia.

The owner, and any collaborator the owner has given the Admin role, can invite further people to the wedding (as Admin, Editor or Viewer).

  • Every role — Viewer included — has access to the whole guest list, including guests' names, email addresses, phone numbers, dietary tags and allergens, and to the uploaded files.
  • The owner of the wedding is responsible for invitations and for revoking access, including invitations sent by an Admin.
  • A collaborator may use the wedding's data only for planning the wedding, on the owner's behalf, and never for their own purposes.

Under a wedding planner plan, the planner owns the weddings they create. The couple can be given access as collaborators and can also buy their own plan for the wedding.

3. Uploaded content and personal data — the owner's responsibility

The owner of the wedding is the controller of the personal data entered into it — the guest list, contact details, attendance replies, dietary and accommodation details, photos, documents and vendor details. Wedonia processes this data on the owner's behalf, as a processor (see section 5).

In particular, the owner is responsible for:

  • having an appropriate legal basis for entering and using the data, and informing the people concerned (such as the guests);
  • the lawfulness of the processing done by the collaborators they invite — collaborators act under the owner;
  • handling requests from guests and other people concerned (access, correction, erasure); Wedonia assists with this.

Photos: only upload a photo of a guest or any other person if they have agreed to it or you have another legal basis for it. The owner is responsible for the photo and for the lawfulness of uploading it. Guest photos, documents (contracts, offers) and images sent to the guest apps are not public: only those entitled to them can open them, through links that expire. Gift, idea, seating and website images, profile pictures, and marketplace vendor and listing images are stored at addresses that are hard to guess but public: anyone who has an image's address can open it without signing in — do not upload a photo of anyone there without their consent.

Health data: dietary tags and allergens are special-category personal data. When a guest gives them on the reply page, the Service asks for their explicit consent. When the owner or a collaborator records them, obtaining that consent is their responsibility.

Uploading unlawful content, material that infringes someone else's rights, or data you have no right to is prohibited. Wedonia may remove such content after being notified.

4. Public guest pages

The wedding website and the guests' attendance reply page are public. Guests do not enter into a contract with Wedonia and do not have to accept these terms; the guests' part of the Privacy Notice applies to them.

Each household signs in to the reply page with its own code and PIN, or with a one-time code sent to the email address on the guest list. The owner is responsible for getting the codes to the right guests.

Messages guests write in the chat are visible to the couple, the collaborators and — in the "everybody" room — the other invited guests. The owner and collaborators with the Editor or Administrator role can hide messages.

Guest apps. Depending on the plan, the owner can switch on guest apps (guestbook, memory collector, camera, song requests). Under section 3 the owner is responsible for the content and personal data guests send to them; Wedonia stores the content on the owner's behalf, does not check it in advance and is not obliged to monitor it. The owner and collaborators with the Editor or Administrator role can hide or delete what was sent, and can permanently delete an app's entire content; telling the guests about it is the owner's responsibility.

The camera app records where a photo was taken by default, if the guest allows it in their browser; they can switch it off at any time while taking photos. The app runs on the guests' devices, browsers and networks, so Wedonia does not guarantee that every photo taken is uploaded.

Anyone can report unlawful content to Wedonia at team@wedonia.com; Wedonia examines the report and may remove unlawful content.

The website's short address (e.g. wedonia.com/w/anna-and-ben) is not an exclusive or permanent right: it is released when the files are deleted (see section 7) and another wedding may claim it.

5. Processing on the owner's behalf

This section is the data processing agreement under Article 28 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) between the owner (controller) and Wedonia (processor). Wedonia:

  • processes the wedding's data only to provide the Service, on the owner's instructions — using the Service's features and settings counts as an instruction;
  • lets its staff access the data only for operations, troubleshooting, support or legal reasons, under a duty of confidentiality;
  • protects the data with appropriate technical and organisational measures (encrypted connections, per-wedding access control in the database);
  • uses the providers listed in the Privacy Notice as sub-processors; gives the owner reasonable advance notice before engaging a new sub-processor, and the owner may object on data protection grounds; if no reasonable solution is found, the owner may terminate the contract and receives a proportionate refund for the remaining period;
  • assists with requests from people concerned, and notifies the owner without undue delay of a personal data breach affecting the wedding's data, providing the information the owner needs for their own reporting obligations;
  • deletes the data at the end of the contract as described in sections 7 and 8; the owner can download their data before deleting their account;
  • may produce aggregated statistical data from the weddings' data that cannot be linked to any person, and use it to develop the Service and for analysis;
  • assists the owner, taking into account the nature of the processing and the information available to it, in meeting the obligations under Articles 32–36 GDPR (security of processing, breach notification, data protection impact assessment and prior consultation);
  • binds its sub-processors in writing to the same data protection obligations as bind it under this agreement;
  • transfers data to a third country only with safeguards meeting Articles 44–49 GDPR; these are listed in section 9 of the Privacy Notice;
  • makes available in writing, on the owner's request and to the extent the law requires, the information needed to demonstrate compliance with this agreement, and allows for and contributes to audits, including inspections, conducted by the owner or by an auditor the owner mandates, by prior arrangement.

The subject of the processing is storing, displaying, transmitting (for example by email to guests) and deleting the data entered into the Service to organise the wedding; its duration is the term of the contract and the deletion deadlines in sections 7 and 8. People concerned: the guests, the couple, the collaborators and vendors' contact persons. Categories of data: identification and contact details, attendance and accommodation details, dietary tags and allergens (health data, a special category), photos and location data, messages and documents. Before the contract ends the owner can download the data from the Service; after that Wedonia deletes it, unless the law requires it to be kept. If Wedonia considers that an instruction infringes the law, it informs the owner without delay.

6. Fees, payment and withdrawal

Plans cost the price shown in the Service. Wedding plans can be bought with a monthly fee (at the latest until the wedding day) or a one-time fee. A monthly subscription ends automatically at the end of the billing period that contains the wedding day: a renewal due on or before the wedding day is charged, a renewal falling after it is not. If your subscription was live on the wedding day, your wedding stays fully available at no further charge until the 60th day after the wedding day. A plan can be bought for a wedding whose date is at most 3 years after the purchase.

Changing plans. You can switch between monthly plans at any time; the change takes effect immediately, and the remaining days of the period already paid for carry over to the new plan. A one-time plan cannot be switched to a monthly plan. A one-time plan can only be upgraded to a larger one-time plan – one shown in the Service at a higher list price – by paying the difference. The difference is the larger plan's list price at the time of the upgrade minus the gross amount actually paid so far for the wedding's one-time plan and not refunded (including any earlier credit). If you bought the earlier plan at a discount, the discount does not carry over to the larger plan, and no discount code can be used for the upgrade; for example, if you bought a plan listed at HUF 15,000 with a 50% discount for HUF 7,500, upgrading to a plan listed at HUF 20,000 costs HUF 12,500. The upgrade can only be paid in the currency the original plan was bought in. The provider issues an invoice for the difference. An upgrade is possible until the 16th day before the wedding day at the latest; in the last 15 days before the wedding, and after the wedding day, a plan cannot be upgraded. A one-time plan cannot be switched to a smaller or equally priced plan. When switching from a monthly plan to a one-time plan, the monthly fees already paid cover the period already used and are not credited towards the one-time fee — unless the Service expressly states the credit in the plan picker before payment, in which case the monthly fees already paid are deducted. A credit never results in a refund and never exceeds the new fee. Between monthly plans you can move to a smaller plan if your wedding fits within its storage, guest number and modules.

Payment takes place on Stripe's payment page; card details never reach Wedonia. Stripe only processes the payment. The invoice is issued by the provider through the Billingo invoicing system and sent by email, after payment, to the address given at purchase.

Trial. If the Service shows a free trial for a plan in the plan picker, the plan can be used in full, free of charge, for the period shown once you have chosen it. No card is needed, and nothing is charged automatically when the trial ends. A trial can be used once per wedding, only for a wedding that has not had a plan before, and cannot be combined with a discount code. You can pay for the plan at any time during the trial: payment ends the trial, and the plan continues from the day of payment as described in this section. If you have not paid by the end of the trial, the plan ends and the wedding is locked; your data is kept, the uploaded files are subject to section 7, and paying for the plan lets you carry on where you left off. We remind you by email before the trial ends.

Trial exception: images, documents and other files cannot be uploaded to the wedding during the trial. The plan’s storage becomes available after payment.

The Service starts immediately after a successful payment, because before paying you expressly request that it starts at once. Your 14-day right of withdrawal is not lost by this: you may withdraw from the contract without giving reasons within 14 days of payment by a clear statement sent to team@wedonia.com, or with the online withdrawal function at wedonia.com/en/elallas ("Withdraw from the contract"). After an online withdrawal you immediately receive an email confirming its content and the time it was received. You may also use the model withdrawal form in section 18, but you do not have to. If the service has already started by then, you must pay an amount proportionate to the period used; we refund the rest within 14 days of being told of the withdrawal, using the original payment method (Hungarian Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), sections 20, 23 and 26). Independently of this, as a voluntary satisfaction guarantee: for a one-time plan you can request a full refund of the fee without giving reasons within 3 days of payment, on your plan page; the refund ends the plan immediately. For an upgrade the guarantee covers the upgrade fee: you get the upgrade fee back, and your previous plan carries on unchanged. The guarantee does not apply to a one-time plan bought from a monthly plan with the monthly fees credited. If you withdraw from an upgrade, your previous plan likewise carries on unchanged, and we keep the part of the upgrade fee proportionate to the time from the start of the upgrade until you told us of the withdrawal; the basis of the proportion is the period from the start of the upgrade until the 60th day after the wedding day. Except in the case of withdrawal, monthly subscription fees are not refundable: a subscription can be cancelled at any time, and access continues until the end of the period already paid for.

You can cancel a subscription in the Stripe customer portal; access continues until the end of the paid period. If a monthly charge fails, you have 7 days from the first failed attempt to fix the payment method in the Stripe customer portal; during that time the wedding keeps working as usual. If the fee is not paid within the 7 days, the wedding is locked until the payment is settled.

Term of the contract: the account is for an indefinite period and lasts until it is deleted (section 8). A monthly wedding plan is an indefinite subscription that renews automatically every month, can be cancelled at any time, and ends by itself at the latest at the end of the billing period that contains the wedding day. A one-time wedding plan is for a fixed term: it lasts until the 60th day after the wedding day. A planner plan is an indefinite subscription that renews automatically every month and can be cancelled at any time. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for. A subscription cannot be paused: if you do not pay or you cancel, the plan ends and the uploaded files are deleted 60 days after coverage ends, as described in section 7; subscribing again before then lets you carry on where you left off.

7. Retention and deletion of uploaded files

The Service does not keep uploaded files (images, documents, floor plans) indefinitely. This section is about files; the deletion of the wedding's personal data is described in section 8.

Files are deleted on the earlier of these two dates:

  • 60 days after the wedding's subscription coverage ends — coverage means the wedding's own subscription, the creating planner's live planner subscription, or the free access after the wedding day; after a failed charge, coverage ends when the 7-day grace period runs out;
  • 60 days after the wedding day — this applies even while a subscription is active.

If the wedding never had a subscription, the 60th day after it was created applies instead of the first date. If the wedding has no date set, the second date does not apply. On a one-off plan, files are kept no longer than 3 years and 60 days after the plan was activated, whatever the wedding date; if the wedding has no date set, no longer than 2 years after it was created. Deleting the files does not affect the plan or the use of the Service.

The owner of the wedding is notified by email at least 7 days before the deletion. When the date comes from the end of the subscription, subscribing again prevents the deletion. The date tied to the wedding day cannot be extended.

The deletion is permanent and the files cannot be restored. Downloading the files you want to keep is the owner's responsibility.

When the files are deleted, the wedding website's short address is released at the same time. The website then remains reachable at an address containing the wedding's identifier.

8. Deleting a wedding or an account

The owner can request that a wedding be deleted. The wedding becomes unavailable to everyone immediately — for the guests that includes the website, the reply page and the guest apps — and the request can be undone within 24 hours, after which the deletion becomes final and the wedding's subscription is also ended at Stripe.

You can request the deletion of your account in the settings. This also deletes every wedding you created, can be undone within 24 hours, and stops any running subscriptions. You can download your account's data before deleting it.

We delete the wedding's personal data — the guest list, replies, contact details, dietary information, the chat, the guest apps' content, the guest site's texts and the couple's names — on the 60th day after the wedding day; for a deleted wedding, no later than the 30th day after the deletion, if that is earlier. If the wedding has no date set, the personal data is deleted 12 months after its subscription coverage ended; if the wedding never had a subscription, on the 60th day after it was created. On a one-off plan, the personal data is deleted no later than 3 years and 60 days after the plan was activated; if the wedding has no date set, no later than 2 years after it was created. For a live wedding we notify the owner by email at least 7 days before. Planning data that names no one (such as vendor offers, prices and the budget) is kept by the Provider after the deletion and may be used for statistics and product development. Billing data is kept for 8 years as accounting law requires.

Trial exception: if the wedding’s plan trial ends without payment, we delete the wedding’s personal data on the 60th day after the trial ends. An earlier deadline tied to the wedding day or a requested wedding deletion still applies. Buying a plan before deletion removes the deadline tied to the trial’s end. The notice and non-personal data rules above still apply.

9. Right of use

Buying a plan gives you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for the wedding concerned, for the term of the plan. All other rights in the Service's software and content belong to the provider.

While the subscription is active, the wedding can use every module and service included in its plan.

Once the subscription ends (cancellation or expiry), the wedding can no longer be edited — unless the subscription was live on the wedding day, in which case full access continues until the 60th day after the wedding day. For 60 days from the end, the owner can download the wedding's data and uploaded files; after that the files are deleted as described in section 7. Buying a new plan restores full access.

The guest pages — the wedding website and the attendance reply page — remain available after the subscription ends, until the 60th day after the wedding day, so that the links and QR codes on invitations already sent keep working. Uploaded images appear on these pages only until they are deleted under section 7.

10. Discontinuation of the Service

If the provider discontinues the Service, it announces this by email to the owner of every live wedding at least 90 days before the discontinuation. From the announcement onwards, no new plans are sold. In that case:

  • monthly subscriptions end without any further charge; access continues until the end of the period already paid for, after which the download period in section 9 applies;
  • weddings with a one-time plan are served until the 60th day after the wedding day;
  • the guest pages of every wedding with a purchased plan remain available until the 60th day after the wedding day;
  • if serving a one-time plan becomes impossible for reasons beyond the provider's control, the provider refunds the fee paid, reduced by the number of months begun multiplied by the monthly fee of the same plan at the time of purchase (but not below zero);
  • downloading the data and files remains possible in every case until the discontinuation.

11. Liability

The Provider aims to keep the Service continuously available but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where possible. The Provider is not liable for interruptions caused by maintenance or by an unavoidable external cause beyond its control (force majeure), or for damage resulting from them; it is liable for the subcontractors it uses (such as its hosting, payment and email providers) as if it had acted itself (Hungarian Civil Code s. 6:148); this does not affect a consumer's rights for defective performance (section 15).

The Provider is not liable for content uploaded or submitted by users, collaborators or guests, for the owner's moderation decisions, or for damage resulting from a user not keeping their sign-in (email account) safe, or a household not keeping its household code and PIN safe.

The guest apps, the camera in particular, run on the guests' own devices, browsers and networks; the Provider is not liable for photos not uploaded or lost because of them. Downloading the files to be kept is the owner's responsibility (section 7).

The Provider's liability for breach of contract is limited to the fee actually paid for the wedding or planner plan concerned — for a monthly subscription, the fees paid in the 12 months before the event causing the damage — and does not extend to lost profit or indirect damage. The limitation does not apply to breaches committed intentionally or with gross negligence, or causing harm to life, physical integrity or health, nor to damage caused by a criminal offence (Hungarian Civil Code s. 6:152), nor to the Provider's liability under data protection law, and towards a consumer it applies only to the extent permitted by law.

12. Promotions and discount codes

We may issue discount codes as part of time-limited promotions. A code’s conditions — the size of the discount, how long it is valid and which plans it applies to — are set out on the page of the promotion in question.

  • a wedding can redeem a discount code once; how many weddings may use it in total is set by the promotion;
  • the discount applies to the plan the code was redeemed on — on a monthly plan to every monthly fee for as long as the subscription runs; when you change plan (between monthly plans, from a monthly plan to a one-time plan, or by upgrading a one-time plan, section 6) the discount ends, it does not carry over to the new plan, and the same code cannot be used again; nor can it be used again for a new subscription after a cancellation; no code can be used for an upgrade;
  • one person and one wedding may take part in a promotion once;
  • a code cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be combined with a free trial;
  • in case of abuse — for example obtaining several codes with addresses created for that purpose — a code may be invalidated.

Where a promotion requires subscribing to the newsletter, we say so clearly before you claim it. Unsubscribing does not invalidate a code already issued. The processing of newsletter data is described in the Privacy Notice.

13. Acceptable use and uploaded content

The Service may not be used for unlawful purposes. In particular, it is forbidden to:

  • upload or publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, violates personality rights, incites hatred, is obscene or endangers minors;
  • upload another person's image or data without a legal basis, or infringe third parties' copyright or other intellectual property;
  • send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) with the Service's email or messaging features;
  • circumvent the Service's security measures, attempt unauthorised access, overload the Service, collect data automatically, or reverse-engineer the software, except where the law expressly allows it.

Uploaded content remains the property of the uploader or the rightholder. The uploader grants the Provider a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, lasting as long as the content is stored, to store, copy, process, transmit and display it to the extent needed to operate and secure the Service — and only to the recipients the uploader chose (for example the couple, the collaborators or the guests). The Provider does not use the content for any other purpose and does not pass it on.

Anyone can report unlawful content at team@wedonia.com or with the Service's reporting feature. We examine the report and, if the content is clearly unlawful, remove it or make it inaccessible; we tell the person concerned about the decision and the reason for it.

14. Suspension of access and termination

The Provider may suspend access to an account or a wedding only where this is necessary to stop an infringement, to protect the security of the Service or of other users, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation. We notify you of the suspension and its reason by email — in advance where circumstances allow — and give you the opportunity to resolve the situation. The suspension lasts only as long as necessary and does not affect the owner's right to download their data, unless that data is itself unlawful.

In the case of a serious breach of contract, or one continued after a warning, the Provider may terminate the contract by email, with reasons. The owner can then download their data for at least 30 days and — unless the termination was for deliberate abuse — receives a proportionate refund for the remaining period. The user can end the contract at any time by cancelling the plan and deleting their account.

15. Defective performance

The Service is a digital service; towards a consumer the Provider is liable under Hungarian Government Decree 373/2021 (VI. 30.) for the Service conforming to the contract throughout the whole term of the service.

You can report a defect at team@wedonia.com or through the support page. The Provider remedies the defect free of charge within a reasonable time. If remedying it is impossible, would be disproportionately costly, does not happen within a reasonable time, or the defect is serious, the consumer may ask for a proportionate price reduction or — if the defect is not minor — terminate the contract and receive a refund for the defective period.

The Service evolves through updates; an update may not significantly impair the contractual usability of the Service, and we announce material changes in advance. If a modification adversely affects your access to or use of the Service more than trivially, we notify you in advance on a durable medium (by email); you may then terminate the contract free of charge within 30 days of the notice or of the modification, whichever is later, and receive a proportionate refund for the unused period.

16. Changes to these terms

Every version of these terms has a version number. The Provider may amend the terms only for a valid reason — a change in law, a requirement of an authority, a new or discontinued feature of the Service, security, or a change in costs — and states the reason together with the version. A material change, or one to your disadvantage, is announced by email and in the Service at least 30 days before it takes effect; if you do not accept it, you may terminate free of charge before it takes effect and receive a proportionate refund for the remaining period. A price change never affects a one-time plan already bought, and for a monthly subscription it applies at the earliest from the billing period starting after the 30th day following the announcement. After a material change the Service asks you to accept the terms again on your next sign-in, and the acceptance is recorded together with the version.

The Provider may transfer the contract, with the rights and obligations under it, to a company it founds or that takes over its business when the business is converted or transferred; by accepting these terms the user consents to this in advance (Hungarian Civil Code s. 6:208). The transferee assumes every obligation under the contract, including liability for performance before the transfer. We give at least 30 days' notice of the transfer by email; the Service, the plans and the terms do not change because of it. If you do not accept it, you may terminate before the transfer takes effect and receive a proportionate refund for the remaining period.

17. Governing law and contact

The contract is governed by Hungarian law. For a consumer this does not remove the protection given by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country of their habitual residence (Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, Article 6).

Complaints can be made at team@wedonia.com or through the support page. The Provider registers a request received as a complaint, answers it in writing, with reasons, within 30 days, keeps the complaint and the answer for 3 years, and if it rejects the complaint informs the consumer of the available remedies (Hungarian Consumer Protection Act CLV of 1997, section 17/A).

In a consumer dispute the consumer may turn to the conciliation body competent for their place of residence or stay; for the Provider's registered office this is the Budapest Conciliation Board (Budapesti Békéltető Testület, Krisztina krt. 99, 1016 Budapest, bekelteto.testulet@bkik.hu). The Provider must cooperate in the conciliation procedure. The consumer may also go to court.

Questions: team@wedonia.com.
