About
We bought the castle empty in 2016 and spent four years restoring it. We did not want to turn it into an events centre: most of the furniture is original, the park was replanted from the old drawings, and we take exactly one wedding a day.
The ceremony happens in the rose garden, dinner in the ballroom or on the terrace, and the dancing moves to the granary after midnight — partly for the noise limit, partly because there you can go until dawn. Most guests sleep here too, so a good half of the planning is about who ends up in which room.
We keep our prices in one place: there is no separate weekend surcharge and no compulsory supplier list. Our own kitchen cooks; everything else you may bring yourselves.

Full-day castle hire
From £2,470per weddingThe castle and the park are yours alone from 10:00 until 10:00 the next morning. Furnished ballroom for up to 140, a marquee, dressing rooms for both of you, and staff who stay through the clear-up.

Ceremony in the rose garden
£408per weddingAn outdoor ceremony at the hundred-year-old rose arbour, with seating, an aisle runner and the registrar’s table set. The wet-weather plan is the orangery, at the same price.

From £58per guestA four-course menu from our own kitchen, seasonal, with vegetables from the castle garden. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free versions at no extra cost.

Welcome dinner the night before

We had 120 guests there in September. The park alone would have been worth it, but what actually mattered was that the coordinator took everything off our hands — my parents still talk about how calm the day was.

The kitchen surprised us. We ate through three menus at the tasting, and the lamb we ended up choosing was exactly the same on the day. The rooms are simple but clean and cool — which counts for a lot in July.

Beautiful place, straight-dealing team. One thing worth knowing: the ballroom really is full at 140 — we were 132 and the dance floor still ended up tight. If you are over 120, ask for the marquee as well.
